Georges Burki (Violin)

Georges, born in Berlin, studied the violin at the conservatories of Lucerne and Paris, graduating with the soloist-diploma. He won several prizes as a chamber musician and as a soloist, e.g. the Edwin Fischer Award and the second prize at the "Concour International de Jeunes Virtuoses” in Vichy. Further studies in jazz improvisation followed. Then, for several projects, he focussed on bossa nova, post bop and blues funk. With the "Crossover Duo” he plays a fusion of classical music and jazzy elements.
